MLM Prospecting is Not, for the Most Part, What Your Upline Tells You

MLM PRospecting One of the first things you need to know about MLM prospecting is that people will only do business with people they like. Most folks like being around people that they like, so it makes sense that when you conduct business it is going to be with someone you like, not the pushy sales person from x industry.

Being successful in network marketing comes down to one thing, getting people to like you, getting people to trust you, and gaining credibility with potential prospects.

Prospecting Process

It is important that you understand how to get people to like you so they will continue to do business with you over and over again or join your downline. The main thing here is that you are extremely honest with potential prospects. You do what you say you are going to do and show them how you can help them.

Always be courteous to everyone. You don't want to ever wish you could take something back you wrote or said. With technology today, you may just see it all over the internet!

After your initial contact with a person you should know if they are a candidate for your company. If so, make an appointment to call them again.

You need to listen to them and hear what they are saying along with answering their questions. Always set an appointment so the time is scheduled and agreeable to both parties.

Don't leave it to them to call back. Remember, everyone is very busy nowadays and they may intend to call back, but just forget because of life. Making an appointment is also respectful.

Below There Are Some Important Facts About MLM Prospecting in the Network Marketing Industry:

- When you are having a conversation with a person it is extremely important you are an active listener. There is a reason everyone says “we have two ears and only one mouth.” Make sure that you listen to their story completely so you understand why they are talking to you.

- Know and understand your field so you are the expert and can assist someone. Remember, they are speaking to you looking for an answer to their problem. If you can not provide that, good bye, even if they did sign up with you in your downline they will quickly move on.

- Listening will help you find out exactly what your prospect wants. You must find out what they want so you can help them and not talk about something they could care less about. Folks don’t get in touch with you because they are looking for a friend in network marketing. Always respect their desires and be respectful.

- Deliver what you promise. Let me say this a different way, do what you say you’re going to do and follow-up.

MLM Prospecting is a process. You will learn what works best for you and your prospects. The more you work on these skills the better they become.
