Do Landing Pages Have a Legitimate Use?

Landing Pages also known as Capture Pages Are a Necessary Evil

There is a good use for capture pages. If you want to measure your marketing campaign success you will need to use capture pages.

If you don't have a clear way to measure what is working and what is not working you may be spinning your wheels with little to show for it.

Create Capture Pages that will let you measure your success

If you have a website or blog, in order to measure your campaign's success you will have to create several landing pages that will capture precise traffic in a unique place.

For instance, if I'm going to market widgets I would have to create at least two landing pages, one called fancy widgets and the second called ordinary widgets.

By clearly separating fancy and ordinary widgets I will see which marketing is working better. You can determine your return on investment (ROI) with this information.

Many times network marketing folks forget about ROI because they are not use to setting up a business model and calculating such things.

The Evil about capture pages

I have noticed while surfing the net many folks have turned the home page of their website into a capture page.

Why? This is not attraction marketing and offers no value to me. Why on earth would I go and give this person my e-mail address when they have offered me nothing and I don't even know them.

I'm sure folks can make this work for them, but I would never give out my e-mail address when the home page of a website is a capture page.

This is telling me no, you can not have any information until I receive your e-mail address and name. I want to know about the person first so I can determine if they are offering a product or service I'm interested in. landing-Pages

I need to have some trust first

I never gave my correct e-mail address to these capture pages. I was amazed they did not have validation in them to prevent that. When I get to know the person, then I put my correct e-mail address in the landing pages.

I always want to read about the person and what they offer before I give my e-mail address out to them. Not everyone is on the up and up, we all know how hard it is to get off e-mail spam when someone is not honestly offering a service or product we want.

I am still learning how to use these pages to determine my ROI without becoming an aggravation to my customers. I do enjoy providing value.

Learn to use capture pages to evaluate your ROI, we never know what the search engines are going to be looking for next.
