• How to Websites (Ehow.com) – can give you a good idea what popular the niche is. You can look at the top "how to websites” to determine what folks are looking at. This will give you a good idea what folks are searching for on the internet.
• Research Popular Online forums – By researching the online forums you can see the pain points for a specific niche and focus on solving them. What are people looking for and why?
• Books about Trends – These books can be very helpful to identify trends that may fit into your theme that you are unaware of such as: Alternative medicine for pets, 20-something and bankruptcy, baby boomers’ obsession with looking and feeling young
• Amazon Bestsellers and Amazon Movers and Shakers – The great thing about this area is you can look for products to monetize your blog or website with. They will fit your theme and page keyword. Extra residual income!
• PayPal Shops – Can be used much the same way as Amazon
• Common health problems – This is a huge topic. According to the New York Times 52% of adults use the web to find health information.
